Ryan Cook
Ryan Cook is a world-renowned chainsaw carver, entertainer, and educator whose art pushes the limits of what wood can become. Known for his high-energy carving style, Ryan transforms raw logs into lifelike sculptures with speed, precision, and a showman’s flair.
His carving journey began as an apprentice on the hit series Saw Dogs and quickly gained momentum with breakout appearances on HGTV and Netflix USA’s Carver Kings. He went on to become a judge on Discovery Channel’s A Cut Above, and his carving has also been featured on Netflix’s Big Timber and Virgin River, as well as in the Hallmark movie Happy Howlidays.
Since then, Ryan has carved his way across the globe, earning multiple international titles — including First Place and People’s Choice awards at top competitions like Campbell River and Chetwynd.
Ryan’s unique blend of artistry and performance has made him one of the most recognizable faces in the carving world. He’s also the first Canadian to be sponsored by Echo Canada, Cannon Bar Works, Makita Power Tools, Saburrtooth, Pfanner, and U2 Fasteners — proof of both his craft and his influence.
Beyond competitions, Ryan thrives on connection. His social media channels (@ryancookcarvin) reach hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide, blending raw carving action with storytelling and humor.
Ryan also leads Saw Valley Carvings Inc., his carving and online tool store (www.sawvalley.com), where every tool offered is one he personally uses and believes in. He’s often called the Bob Ross of Chainsaw Carving — inspiring anyone to pick up a saw and start creating.
Whether on stage, on screen, or online, Ryan Cook Carvin’ is all about big ideas, bold cuts, and bringing people together through the power of wood, ice, steel, and imagination.
